Panama City Beach & Panama City are well known as one of the top launch points to head into the Gulf of Mexico for offshore fishing and to pursue some of the best game fish to be found anywhere in the world. Many of the desirable fish species can be found fairly close to shore, this includes Red Snapper and a wide variety of other snapper species, Grouper, King Mackerel, Mahi, Amberjack, Flounder, Cobia, and many others.
Near shore there are many artificial structures to choose from (more than you could possibly fish in one or two days) that will hold plenty of fish to keep you busy! Venture out 20 to 100 miles and the game substantially changes. The farther offshore you go means fewer boats, more fish, deeper water species to target, and countless trolling opportunities for Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, King Mackerel, Mahi, and more.
Panhandle Fishing - We are fortunate to have a large inshore area here in and around Panama City Beach, St Andrews Bay and it's network of Bayou's and Estuaries that provide us top notch inshore fishing opportunities on a year round basis. Easy access around the bay for both boats and kayaks gives us plenty of choices to find an uncrowded grass flat or shallow area to fish.
Sight fish for Redfish or Tarpon with lures or a fly rod, Casting topwater or other artificial lures are very effective Spotted Trout, Redfish, and many others. Drop some bait around docks, any of the bridges, or other structures you will find Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead. and possibly Red Snapper, Grouper, Cobia, or Black Drum.
Panama City Beach offers well over 20 miles of shoreline for you to select a spot to cast a line out in the Surf or to choose one of the local piers to drop a line.
